Aspxgridview rowupdating not firing

I'm manually wiring up a Grid View control in my app, but the Row Updating doesn't fire when clicking Update. It's as if the Grid View thinks the first link button in the row that was clicked, "Update", is actually "Edit", which is also the first control in the row. Basically, it doesn't remember that it's in edit mode.

To learn how this can be done, please refer to the Unbound Columns Overview topic.

To cancel the update operation, set the collections, if necessary, before the values are passed to the data source.

A common way to use these collections is to HTML-encode the values supplied by the user before they are stored in the data source.

now row_updating event fires but my edited data is not saved to the database, please try at your endplease look into itthanks in advance and have a nice day Hello Akhtar. This behavior is caused by the fact that you are passing the Values collection to the e.

New Values parameter in the Row Updating event handler.
